Scheme Information
The Gas Installer Domestic (GID) course consists of a range of work categories within the Irish gas industry. The current scope for ERS Certification can be obtained via the UKAS website .
Pre-Requisites
Pre-requisite for GID requires either of the following:
- GIS certification
- National Craft Certificate in Plumbing (issued by FETAC)
Assessment Information
Assessments normally consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations.
Expiry Information
Certificates are valid for 5 years, candidates are eligible to undertake re-assessment up to 6 months prior to the expiry date of the initial certificate. Previous certificates must be presented to the assessment centre as evidence. Candidates with expiring GID certificates who are registered with RGII will be required to take the DGA assessment.
